Airsoft Gun Guide: Shooting Airsoft Guns With The Boys – No More ‘I’m So Bored’

I just bought my boys each a Spring Airsoft Rifle this past week, an AK47 and a M-16. Previously, we only had a few of the cheaper airsoft pistols, which I thought of as our starter guns. These new airsoft rifles are a lot better quality and still cost under $25 each, which in my opinion, is still considered inexpensive when you consider cost of things like video games, toys, adventure parks, etc.

I don’t know about you, but I would much rather see my kids outside getting fresh air, sunshine and some exercise instead of sitting on the couch watching tv and eating junk food. Don’t they know that is my job, lol… I can definitely say that something as simple as a cheap airsoft gun, has brought my boys and I closer together as a family. I’m sure there are many parents out there who get off work and go home and dread to hear these words from their kids ‘I’M BORED’ or ‘There’s nothing to do.’ These words are like fingernails on a chalkboard and I have heard it enough to know.

Now after 20 minutes outside with their airsoft guns they could not be happier. I don’t think it’s about the amount of time they spend, I think it has a lot to do with the fact, that they are playing with something that looks and feels so real to them. And let’s face it, what kid has seen a gun and not wanted to play with it. If you use the airsoft guns with proper safety gear, there are no injuries. It might sting a little if you’re are shot with a bb, but my boys are shooting at paper targets with supervision and not at each other or at animals.

In my opinion, airsoft guns are best for teaching gun safety without the threat of serious injury. Children should still be monitored by their parents and wear safety goggles, but if you are like me monitoring them is not an issue, since I am right there with them having just as much fun.
