Review for Airsoft Gun: ICS MP5
Overview:
This is one of the great guns that I’ve been able to test out in person. Right out of the box, this gun is impressive. It has the real look and feel of the actual thing and is far from one of those cheap plastic bodies. The full metal design gives it the feel and weight that separates this from a Tokyo Mauri gun. Whether you get the SD or A series, they are completely solid in design. They shoot a descent 300-330 fps stock. The adjustable hop up is a plus. It comes with a high-cap magazine (230bbs) that is also metal.
Models:
This gun comes in 4 different models. Really, it is just two different options that vary. The A series has a shorter front grip and barrel while the SD series has a longer barrel and has a silencer. They can both be equipped with either a fixed or collapsible butt-stock. The collapsible can be more effective at close range and portability, but cannot be equipped with a large battery without an adapter. The fixed stock has a more durable feeling to it and can use the large size battery.
Known Issues and Drawbacks:
Over the years, this gun has held-up quite well. Only once have I had to send it in for repair. The problem was that I was holding down the trigger on automatic for too long (about 2 minutes straight) and it stripped a gear (oops). The pins that hold the front grip in place also had to be replaced because they fall out easily (SD series only). I just replaced them with some small screws and it works great. So just replace those pins and don’t hold it down on auto for too long at a time and it will be fine.
I give it 9 out of 10
