Airsoft Pistols: The Types and Benefits

by Justin Kander

Many different kinds of airsoft guns have been developed since the 1980s. These include rifles, shotguns, and, as is the focal point here, airsoft pistols.

Several advantages apply to airsoft pistols specifically. One benefit is how affordable airsoft pistols are, which is one of the reasons beginner airsoft players like them so much.

Different levels of quality of airsoft pistols exist for various kinds of players. The better an airsoft pistol is, the more it costs, but you get what you pay for. Therefore, if you are paying a lot, you are definitely going to get a good product.

Even high quality airsoft pistols are much cheaper than airsoft rifles. The CM030, one of the best electric pistols on the market, is only fifty dollars. For a comparatively good airsoft rifle, you could pay between two hundred and four hundred dollars.

Airsoft pistols are most often used as sidearms, and are utilized when one runs out of ammo in their primary gun. However, some people use pistols all the time, and since shots are chosen carefully instead of sporadically, there are advantages to taking this route.

Like airsoft rifles, there are three kinds of pistols: Spring, Electric, and Gas. Each category has its own benefits and drawbacks, but the most balanced of the three is the electric pistol. These pistols are automatic, powerful, and quick, and they are the most widely used type of airsoft pistol.

Spring pistols can be powerful, but you have to cock it before each shot. This can become quite tedious, and in the heat of a game, having to worry about that is not a good thing. On the positive side, spring pistols are the cheapest type of any airsoft gun.

The most powerful airsoft pistols are those that are powered by gas. The are both powerful and fast. The only drawback is that you have to keep buying more gas, but as long as you buy it all at once, it’s not too bad.
