Let’s begin with what is an airsoft gun? Airsoft guns that were first introduced in Asia, these were created in the mid 80’s and became very popular in the United States, United Kingdom and other countries in the 90’s and is still growing. In this article, I am going to discuss the different available airsoft guns that are available and some extra gear you should purchase to get started enjoying this sport.

The first type is the spring action airsoft guns, this is the least like gun, it works exactly how it sounds, the gun has a spring that forces the bb pellet out of the barrel without much power at all, these are the cheapest airsoft guns on the market, it probably is the ideal gun if you are a beginner.

Electric airsoft guns seem to be the most popular to users. The way the electric gun works is a spring and piston combined shoot the pellet out with each pull of the trigger, these guns just like anything else that is electric require the use of a battery, whether it be a rechargeable that you plug in or a regular battery, usually the more pricier the gun, it most likely will come with a rechargeable battery, they last longer with the kind of use that airsoft guns take, more activity the faster the battery drains. The electric airsoft guns offer several different types; they are hybrids, mini electric, electric blowback, medium powered, low powered and automatic electric guns. It is recommended to do research on any of these electric guns before your purchase to see which one is best for you.

The final type of airsoft gun is gas powered. They way these work are exactly how it sounds, the gun uses an actual type of gas to fire the pellet out of the barrel, there are a few different types of gases that the guns use, they are Co2, green gas and red gas, all of these gases are equally powerful in the gun.

All of the airsoft guns take the same ammo, that being soft bb pellets, the other thing that is available on airsoft guns is called a hop up, this helps with the accuracy while you are firing the airsoft gun. It is recommended that beginners in this sport to start with the spring loaded gun until you are ready to advance. It is highly recommended to wear any gear that you can to protect yourself, that being a mask, a chest guard, gloves, ect… The sport of airsoft guns can be very dangerous when the proper precautions are not followed, they can lead to serious injury and even death.
